In the bustling halls of Tsunshang Elementary School in Taiwan, a unique and inspiring story unfolds. Amidst the academic challenges and extracurricular activities, a group of students found themselves gearing up for an upcoming reading competition. However, at the outset, the prospect of dedicated preparation didn't exactly spark enthusiasm among the Taiwanese students. It was the combined efforts of their English teachers, Mrs. Grace and Ms. Anne, along with the unwavering support from the school itself, that transformed this journey into a remarkable one.
The Initial Reluctance
Preparing for a reading competition can be a daunting task, especially for young students who might view it as just another academic obligation. Initially, the Taiwanese students weren't particularly keen on investing their time and energy into rigorous reading practices. However, this lukewarm response was about to change.
Recognizing the potential in each student, Mrs. Grace and Ms. Anne took on the role of catalysts in this transformation. These two dedicated English teachers understood the importance of fostering a love for reading beyond the boundaries of textbooks. With contagious enthusiasm, they began to infuse the classroom with a sense of excitement about the upcoming competition.
We have Mrs. Lyn, our inspiring Education Director. She is dedicated to ensuring every student has an opportunity to participate in the competition. Ms. Lyn encourages students at every step in their reading journey and provides personalized guidance that's critical to help them succeed. On the day of the competition, Ms. Lyn is present to support and cheer students.
Mrs. Grace, known for her innovative teaching methods, incorporated engaging activities and discussions that centered around the selected reading materials. By making the learning experience enjoyable, she not only captured the students' attention but also ignited their curiosity about the world of literature.
Ms. Anne, on the other hand, brought her passion for storytelling to the forefront. Through animated readings and interactive sessions, she created an environment where reading became an adventure rather than a chore. The students found themselves drawn into the captivating narratives, gradually shedding their initial reluctance.
